CR. Amanya Advocates acts for families through the events that change them — marriage, birth, the care of children, separation, incapacity and death — and for the estates and interests those events put in question.
Where a marriage ends we act in divorce, judicial separation and nullity, and in the questions that follow: custody and access, maintenance for a spouse or child, and the division of matrimonial property. Contested or agreed, the object is the same — a settlement your family can live with, reached with as little damage as the circumstances allow. We negotiate and mediate first, and litigate where that is the only route left.
Estate planning remains the other half of the practice. We work with you as you put pen to paper on your wishes for your business, family and investments, in case of incapacitation and after you are gone, advising on wills, insurance and trusts and holding wills in safe custody. Where an estate falls in, we take families through probate, letters of administration and certificates of no objection, act as neutral executors where the estate requires it, and coordinate assets held across jurisdictions through the PraeLegal and W-Akili Africa networks. Discretion, confidentiality and a light touch are the working brief.
